Most KROS products are made from oats, wheat, rye and barley, and our split peas from Polish peas. We buy these raw materials directly from local farmers – grain purchasing is a core part of our business, not a side activity. For products such as rice we work with certified suppliers from abroad.
Grain purchasing all year round
At our plant in Iłownica we buy:
- barley,
- oats,
- wheat,
- rye,
- peas.
We buy throughout the year, not only at harvest time. Farmers can deliver grain with their own transport, or we collect it directly from the farm. We offer prices updated on an ongoing basis, prompt payments and the option of long-term cooperation and contracts.
Why it matters to B2B customers
- Short supply chain – grain goes from the field straight to our plant, where we process it on site.
- Known origin – our cereals come from Polish, mostly local farms.
- Quality from the start – our laboratory checks every batch from the moment it arrives.
- Stable supply – our own silos and warehouses let us store raw material and plan production ahead.
Long-term relationships with growers
We build lasting relationships with the farmers who supply us. After the harvest we run the KROS Harvest contest (Konkurs Żniwa KROS), with prizes drawn among our grain suppliers. We also test new varieties with seed companies – for example, together with IGP Polska we checked how the barley varieties Aleksandra and Finezja perform in groats production.
A family company from Pomerania
KROS has been operating continuously since 1994, and in Iłownica since 2001. Since 2002 we have been a sheltered employment establishment, creating jobs for people with disabilities. Today we employ 55 people. KROS has been honoured with business awards including Gazele Biznesu, Forbes Diamonds and the Family Business Forum. We present our offer at international trade fairs such as Anuga, SIAL, Thaifex and Food AG.
